What is live on 5 October
Goodreturns says Amazon's SBI pre-sale runs from 25 September through 7 October 2026, and that Amazon's line is 10% instant off on SBI credit cards, debit cards, and credit-card EMI. The Great Indian Festival itself starts on 8 October. Livemint uses the same start date.
On a mobile phone the pre-sale needs a transaction of at least ₹4,990. The cap is ₹1,000 on a full swipe and ₹1,250 on EMI. On other categories the minimum is ₹2,490, the full-swipe cap is ₹1,500, and the EMI cap is ₹1,750. Those four numbers are the pre-sale caps Goodreturns printed. They are not a promise for the sale that starts on 8 October.
What those reports say is excluded
Goodreturns says the pre-sale does not apply to corporate cards, cashback cards, Paytm cards, or Flipkart SBI cards. RuPay credit cards paid through UPI are also out. Gift cards, subscriptions, insurance, travel bookings, infant nutrition, and some electronics are named as excluded. Card on delivery does not count. Pay online with the eligible card.
If you use exchange, Goodreturns says the bank discount can still apply when the amount left to pay, after exchange, meets the minimum. Check that remaining amount on the payment page.
The sale that starts on 8 October
Livemint says SBI debit and credit cards get a 10% instant discount on the Great Indian Festival, that EMI is included, and that a separate offer is 35% cashback capped at ₹150. It also names 10% cashback on eligible Amazon Pay Later purchases, and 5% unlimited cashback on the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card. That 5% is the card's own Amazon reward, not the SBI 10% tile.
The same Mint report says Amazon and the banks had not published the full exclusion list or the rupee cap for the main sale. Flipkart-style banners usually show the cap on the offer tile. Until Amazon prints a cap on the product, do not treat the pre-sale ₹1,000 or ₹1,500 figures as the October 8 offer.
Step by step: claim the offer
There is no code to paste. The card you pay with is the offer.
- 1
Open the sale page
Go to Amazon.in's Great Indian Festival page. Pick the product only after the offer strip on that product names SBI.
- 2
Read the tile
Note the minimum order, the rupee cap, and whether EMI and a full swipe are both listed. A tile that is missing is not a hidden discount.
- 3
Pay with the eligible SBI card
Choose SBI credit, SBI debit, or SBI credit-card EMI. Do not use card on delivery, a corporate card, or RuPay credit through UPI if the tile excludes them.
- 4
Check the amount left after exchange
If you are exchanging an old device, the bank offer looks at what you still pay. If that amount is under the minimum, the 10% line drops off.
- 5
Stop if the discount is not on the bill
The last Amazon page before payment is the offer. A news report does not add the discount after you have paid.
Mistakes that waste the claim
- Do not copy the pre-sale cap onto a purchase made on or after 8 October.
- Do not add the 35% cashback, capped at ₹150, on top of the 10% instant discount unless the payment page shows both.
- Amazon Pay ICICI Bank's 5% cashback is a different card from the SBI offer.
Questions
Is there a coupon code?
No. This is a payment offer. Typing a code from a coupon blog will not turn on the SBI discount.
Which dates matter?
The priced SBI pre-sale Goodreturns describes ends on 7 October 2026. The Great Indian Festival starts on 8 October 2026. Caps can change between those two windows.
Does every SBI card work?
Goodreturns says corporate, cashback, Paytm, and Flipkart SBI cards are out of the pre-sale. The product tile is the list that applies to your order.
